If anyone wants to try this out for a week I found one here (external link) for $25 for the week... with insurance.

Might as well just buy it new for $200 and sell it at your leisure for $175 if you decide you don't want it.

True. But you could say that about anything really. Pretty much wiping out the whole rental industry. :)

I disagree, there is a big difference between a $200 lens and a $2000 lens. The % of the full cost is much lower in the case of more expensive lenses.

it's $200 at Best Buy (in stock in most places in my area). If you have an American Express card, you get $20 statement credit with a $200 purchase at best buy. You have to link your twitter account, however. I believe it's a front page deal on Slickdeals.net right now. I just saw the deal last night

Mine just arrived today. I can fit the 40mm pancake mounted to a gripped 5d w/CPS strap in a Lowepro Nova Mini.... zipped even ;-)a. This is perfect, I couldn't do that with the 50 1.8 II.

Wow a bacon weave! That is so cool. It stayed quite flat instead of curling up. Did you have to flip it frequently?

It stayed flat because I covered it with a plate. And no, I only had to flip it once. It was quite an experience... at 3am :D

you must have been on something to make a bacon weave at 3AM lol. It looks awesome, but too salty on it's own. I feel like that bacon weave is missing something to make it a masterpiece. Maybe bacon weave quesadilla or on a burger? just throwing around some ideas.

Well, I’m a night shift guy and I got out earlier that day so I was bored. Decided to cook something =)
And yeah, next time i’ll try something different. Bacon burger with some other stuff, that’s for sure.
