Oh, and I've booked 16 weddings for this season. Some are able to really play the facebook game, but this seriously has to be 1 of dozens of strategies you have to get your name out. What are your strategies ?

I would say tag the people you are taking pictures of and leave you company name in the caption so their friends can see it and maybe like your page? But it is quite hard though. Hope I help if not I tried.

Jun 07, 2012 04:41 | #7 Love the mixed answers. I asked this because so many other photographers talk about how Facebook brings then so much business. I'm so struggling with that tool. Maybe I'll keep trying with it. Nice to know many of you are thrivin without facebook.

If I post something on my website no one sees it unless they go looking for it. If I post something on Facebook, everyone sees it. After each event that I shoot, I usually gain another "like" or two. Facebook has brought me business and when someone is interested they click the link from Facebook to my website. Canon 5D3, 5D2, 40D

Could someone explain the best method for tagging clients images. BTW, I have a personal page and a business page so does that mean potential and existing clients need to be friends with me (on my personal page) before I can tag them on my biz page??? I'll just delete the business page entirely and just use my personal account to post work. My thoughts exactly - still it was good while it lasted. A British Photographer in Paphos

Pretty cose to being in agreement as well. Facebook is starting to be a PITA. I think they are getting ready to do a number on photographers. We take up a lot of space. But if it gest to the point where its going to costs you 50-100.00 to maintain a photography business page on FB so people can see your work, I will go to google or someplace else. People see what we do, but im not convinced its getting any business.......Its become a necessary evil as far as im concerned. Mike
