New to macro.

Ok, I decided to try my hand at macro photography by just holding my kit lens backwards in front of my camera. Boy was keeping it steady and focused harder than i thought it would be.

So here are three that came out ok at best, any comments would be invited.

Edge of a Dime:

Not a wise thing to do hand holding your lens reverse from your cam's mount.... sensor dust is a nightmare.
Anyway, you can try with your kit lens couple with a close-up filter(3rd party ones are relatively cheap) or you can try putting a magnifying glass in front of the lens instead.

Good shots using that method. You found out the hard way the limited DOF you get at high magnification.

Yea, it was crazy seeing my subject go WAY in and out of focus just from me breathing.

I would echo the comment about dust - you dont want to expose the inners any more than necessary. Anyway you've seen the potential so hunt out a coupler.

I plan to do just that very soon
