Yosemite this past weekend

Spend the weekend at Yosemite - weather was very nice.

Im no professional by any means, but is it just me, or does it look like they are standing in front of a green screen and the background was put in in PP

That can happen when you use flash.

your exposure is too dark then to get the proper face exposure is pops them out too much

I feel your pain. I have 2 going in braces this summer No new gear for me

As I stated above, the last shot was not taken by me; I do thank you all for the comments.

While it would have been nice to set up my softbox, tripod, and trigger with my wireless remote, taking several different exposures and flash settings to dial in the perfect shot, I opted to make the best of what I had to work with.

The photo was taken around 11:30am, not the ideal time by any means, as can be seen by the harsh shadows across our chests. Knowing that I would not be able to ask the nice person to take several shots, and allow me to examine each one on the screen; they were on vacation too, I simply dropped the exposure (3) stops and cranked up my flash to 100%, blasting us with light.

The Orthodontist says she still needs (3) more teeth pulled on the bottom to allow room for the others to move; total package $5,600.00, daughter’s happiness trumps daddy’s dreams of a new camera.

this is what i see as the problem 3 stops is way too much along with full power flash

stop leveling us, haha.
