My daughter is now 4 days old. I understand best time to shoot is between day 7 and 9. have my alien Bee set up with a reflector on the other side. shooting with 5d3 and 24-105. I figured it gives me good coverage, and I am shooting at f9 anyways. have a heater on to keep her warm. I think I need some wool gloves. here was my first attempt. she lasted less than 5 minutes. the donut was too high for her, and could not prop her up. any advice or suggestions from the experts here? I considered hiring someone, and may end up still doing it, but its just more fun doing it yourself.

Well exposed which is great. I envy your AB! The picture is good, but to make it great I would have used something other than black for the baby to be in, something that would compliment/match the hat. I also would like the baby's head to be out a little more (which is a task in itself), and showing both little hands. Oh and rule of the thirds is needed for this pic. Keep it up, you have skill in this area!

Never done this before but your last shots look great to me. The window light really makes it for me.Was there enough light to shoot @ f9 ?
