I know this lens isn't really known for its quick AF abilities, but mine doesn't seem to lock on at all. I never realized this because I usually shoot with manual focusing with this one, but it seems when I try to use the AF, the lens just won't lock on, it'll just keep making sound and moving back and fourth. I can still snap a picture when it's doing this, but it doesn't seem right at all. Anybody know if there's something wrong/what's going on with my lens?

Are you standing too close to the subject? It has a minimum focusing distance like any lens, but I've been caught myself sometimes too close, I just lean back until it clicks in and focuses. Its not a huge amount of space needed, maybe a foot and a half.

Nope, I'm outside of the minimum focusing distance. The amount of lighting doesn't seem to matter much either. At first I just thought it was because of low lighting, but I tested it in good lighting and it still wouldn't hit.

Its so cheap..try another copy? If you can return the one you have for another one that would be good.

what focus mode are you in?...it can't be one shot if you're able to shoot without achieving focus confirmation
