The last few days have been so gloomy here, raining on and off, but I heard that the osprey have been regularly fishing on the pond. So sunny or not, I am not going to pass the opportunity to take some shots. The lack of light limited me to use f/5.6, hence oof wings.

Taken the following day, still gloomy and very windy. The osprey had a hard time fishing.

After getting his fish, the osprey landed in this log to enjoy his meal, but the crows gathered around and started to bug him, so he decided to leave, with the fish to the crows dismay :)

Great shots, Jo. Nice to have a somewhat restricted area you can catch them in. I have yet to catch one fishing, they have such a large area to roam and fish in ;)

Good man, to be going out in less than favourable conditions, Jo! These are great shots that I enjoyed very much. I also really like that first shot because it shows the conditions of the day so well: dark, gloomy and wet.

I so like that you were able to follow him in and am happy for you that in spite of the conditions you were able to expose the shots. It is a good series Jo and the finish is so very real to what we see out there. Thanks for sharing this one. It was fun.

Thanks Mark. I was not able to get a good shot of the osprey with the fish that's why I followed it when it went to the sea side.

Thanks Ian, and there could me more fun in store for the birders here because once the baby ospreys are hatched, they will be fishing numerous times a day, but hopefully we will have sunny days to go with it :)

Thanks Levina. I liked it too. Before I downloaded the pic to my computer I thought those set of pics were lost because its too dark, but it was not as bad as I thought.

Thanks Lil, I hope these are just the start of having good pics with the ospreys :)
