Hello everyone! Im going to be doing a formal portrait of my family (should be fun with a one year old and me trying to use the remote) at a local mill. Im having a hard time deciding on what color of clothing to wear. Here is a picture of the building and wheel Ill be using in the background. The grass and trees should be about the same colors this time of year as well. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/images/crm_0605.jpg (external link)

Sooooo.... Khakis, dark jeans, light jeans, white dress shirts, colored shirts etc? Ill probably place us just in front the path, in the grass with the brick and part of the wooden wheel in the background. Thanks everyone!

Pretty location!

I don't think it really matters what color you pick, but I would do some color personally. If it were me, I'd pick something classic. Blue maybe. And not everyone wearing the exact same thing. I've been in one of those pictures. :(

Here's a helpful link that I found on Pinterest. It gives you ideas for how to dress a family to go well together with a color scheme.

Good luck.

Awesome link Mariyln! Thanks so much. I was considering doing dark blue jeans and white tops (but not the exact same tops). The wife thinks we should do the brown and light blue color scheme. It also happened to have been our wedding colors so we will probably end up compromising and doing what she wants... (like always!):lol:

Foolish, this mill is out VA RT 7 just past Wolftrap. The staff seems very friendly and to quote them, after I asked about tripods and lighting equipment, "We dont have any regulations against photo equipment. Thank you for asking."
