Primarily used my 1D Mark III with pretty good success. Night shots are at ISO 3200 with no noise reduction and are somewhat noisey but better than I've seen from other cameras. So pretty happy with those. For previous motorsports events I was using the 5D Mark II and 1D Mark III but for whatever reason, the 5D Mark II did not hold up as well in the AF department as it had in Atlanta. Not exactly sure why, I hadn't changed any of the settings between events. I'm sure it was just me haha

Anyways, here's a few photos I took. I have a bunch more on my blog site if you care to see more linked at the bottom.

nice shots, the only suggestion I would give is move around more.

I know we were limited to only a few of spots but it looks like you limited yourself to the main photog pit.

You heading to Jersey too?

Thanks, yeah not too bad for ISO 3200 on the 1D :)

Yeah I really wanted to move around but I had already missed a few of the first Top 32 battles, I didn't want to miss anymore lol I would've liked to shoot some from the other side during Top 32, I shot a little bit from over there earlier in the day.

Unfortunately not, only reason I was able to shoot FD at Palm Beach and Atlanta was because GTA was running that weekend also. Unless someone wants to cover my traveling expenses to shoot for them, don't have the funds to travel to New Jersey.

You going?

cool pics.

Shoot tight, crop tighter. There is way too much room to breathe around the cars.
