Canon T2i stolen, should I buy a 5D mkii?

I've done a lot of research, but most of what I found focused on video quality. So here goes:

I recently got my Canon Rebel T2i w/15-85mm stolen... I was really happy with this body/lens combination and was considering upgrading instead of replacing. I was surprised when I saw that the price of purchasing the T2i and 15-85mm brand new is about the same as a 5D mkii and 24-105mm used.

I know there will be better ISO performance and quality from the 5D mkii under normal circumstances, but I was wondering about the autofocus systems. I know the mkii was lacking compared to the mkiii but how would it compare to the T2i? Would you recommend this upgrade? What other improvements will I notice and what features/advantages from the T2i will I miss?

Thanks,
Zach

P.S. the ergonomics and shutter sound are a huge plus for me, so as long as the T2i w/15-85 doesn't have any huge advantages over the 5D mkii I think I will go with the 5D.

???

T2i + 15-85 is the same price as 5d2 + 24-105L???

How's that even possible? 5d2 + 24-105 should go for at least $2400-2500 used.

If I found a 5D2+24-105L for the price of a T2i+15-85, I'd jump on it REAL fast if I were you....Someone certainly will.

I found a 5D mkii + 24-105 that went for $2200. The T2i + 15-85 both new should be around $1500. Sorry, I probably shouldn't have said 'about the same' but from all the hype I hear about the 5D, I consider that a very small difference.

Also, feel free to comment about the 7D as I am considering that too. The majority of my photography is still photography, however, I do some action shooting as well, that's why I was asking about AF.

If the T2i's AF was good enough for what you were shooting before, the 5D2's AF will be good enough as well. No need to consider the 7D unless you're looking to also maximize its 8fps and other more extensive action tracking capabilities. 7D images will look pretty much like that of the T2i.

$2200 is rather cheap for used 5D2 + 24-105. If they're both in good condition, then go pick it up. Otherwise, be careful. I really wouldn't expect that combo to be much less than $2500 if both the camera and lens are in good-to-mint condition.

Thanks to the $3500 price tag of the 5D3, 5D2's used market value didn't quite take as big of a hit as one originally thought it might/would.

Thanks for the advice. If the 7D images will look pretty much like that of the T2i, then I don't think that I would consider that. I know it is better for action photography but I don't do as much of that.

Still looking for more advice on if I should actually shell out the extra dough for a 5D2. Most people who have done the same said that they have no regrets, but are there any drawbacks besides the price that I should consider?

Nope. 5d2 is fantastic in its own right. It's captured many weddings worldwide and even the White House photographer uses it to capture Obama. :)
