This shot is heavily cropped. Is there two much noise to make this a decent picture? I need to get a 100-400 .

Jun 10, 2012 12:13 | #2 Define "decent picture"? If you like it, then it is good enough. I like it at that size, but probably wouldn't print it at 16x20 to hang on the wall. There might be an in-between crop that would work even better... Gripped 7D, gripped, full-spectrum modfied T1i (500D), SX50HS, A2E film body, Tamzooka (150-600), Tamron 90mm/2.8 VC (ver 2), Tamron 18-270 VC, Canon FD 100 f/4.0 macro, Canon 24-105 f/4L,Canon EF 200 f/2.8LII, Canon 85 f/1.8, Tamron Adaptall 2 90mmf/2.5 Macro, Tokina 11-16, Canon EX-430 flash, Vivitar DF-383 flash, Astro-Tech AT6RC and Celestron NexStar 102 GT telescopes, various other semi-crappy manual lenses and stuff.

stayhumble Goldmember 1,328 posts Joined Nov 2010 Location: Huntington Beach, CA More info | Jun 11, 2012 02:31 | #4 Permanent bangood image. use noise removal and also sharpen the picture. use a more advance method such as 'hardlight/high pass filter sharpen' instead of just pushing a sharpenin slider for better quality. There are no rules for a good photograph and there are no excuses for a bad one.
