Hi POTN Members,

I know that you are all very knowledgeable and wanted to pick your brain if I may...

I have a Canon 50d and a Canon 5d MII but never used them together in one session but recently I did a session and used both and noticed that the 50d images were much more sharp and clear than the 5d MII. I was baffaled and so I started to test them both using the same lens and same settings and shot them both in RAW and JPEG and still the same results... The 50d was sharper and more clear than the 5d MII. So now I'm thinking that something is wrong with my 5d MII so I cleaned the senors and still the same results. How could this be? What do you think could be the issue?

Could you post some sample images? Could be any number of things, probably user error, but it could be something wrong with the MkII.

Is this with the same lens on both bodies or did each body have a different lens.

I have both, it seem my 5D2 give great images when I use my "L" if I use none "L" they seem.. so so

On my 50D both types of lenses give great pictures.

Have you done MA on both bodies?

I tested both bodies with the 100mm 2.8, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, and my 24-105mm and came out with the same results and it was the 50d that was better.

Is that easily done, if so can I do it or do I have to send it to Canon to be done?

The 5D looks a tad soft, do you use picture styles?

Do they have the same sharpness settings?

You can do it, just takes time, you will find some great information on how to do this on this forum, you can also get software to automate it that works very well.
