this Grizzly family is well known - yesterday we got to watch as mom and cubs tried to hunt down an Elk calf - the mother elk kept running around leading the bears away from where the calf was hidden and the bears could not find it - they were very busy trying to find the calf but no luck they finally wandered off for some other browsing -

Looking for the calf

Even the cubs look like they could eat you in one bite. Love the standing pose and those giant claws.

Pretty cool stuff. Was this in Hayden Valley?

We were unfortunate/fortunate enough to see a mother black bear snatch up a newborn elk as it dropped to the ground, drag it off and eat it. 2 tiny little fluffy black bears were hanging up in a nearby tree. The mama elk was so frantic and brave as she ran up to the bear who was eating her baby. So sad..... but that is nature.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Great shots, Marcy. KUDOS to you.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.
