The following picture is made of two exposures (a technique called "double exposure" in 35mm film world) - one is sharp and the other is completely out of focus, combined in Photoshop :

Looks good. And interesting. Is this a rose?

Would you mind to post the originals?

Picture has no central area of interest; nothing brings one to center. Too diffuse. Out of focus, yes, but becomes amorphous blur.

Will be visiting Israel soon, so I'll have a bunch of pics for you to critique!

I like your image, for me the interest is in contrast between the light and dark areas and also the uneven lines of the rose petals, a very calm image. I have seen some very fine shots of combined images years ago, where one shot is sharp and the other just slightly off focus. The result was very similar to diffuse glow in PS, a good tecnique to boost contrast.

From what I experienced, no PS technique can match the "real thing", the real out of focus picture that is. On the other hand, maybe I'm not that familiar with PS after all ;)

If you stand it up in portrait mode it looks even better. How do I know - I turned my laptop on its side.!!!!

I'f you are showing off your photoshop masters then it's pretty good, besides that the picture looks like radioactive jello.

ROFL!! Tried your trick, dewmuw-- and I agree! Always attracted to abstracts in these colors for some reason, so I rather liked the image already. Like it much better Portrait.:D

I already explained that the only post processing involved was combining the two exposures into one file, much like the double exposure in the analog photography domain.
