Draw your own conclusions from this:

  • The address given is right in the centre of London's West End - the tourist area, very near the British Museum.
  • The phone number is for OUTER London (BT's official description).
  • The address is actually that of British Monomarks, who provide a mail forwarding service with a "prestigious London street address".
  • The price is almost too low to be believable - it's certainly below the official UK importer's trade price!!

After much research, I bought (a couple of years ago) an official UK import Marumi DHG Super Circular Polariser for about the same price as asked here and it has proved outstanding in every respect. One place you could try http://www.amazon.co.uk …sing-Filter/dp/B001F7BFNS (external link), or the Norwegian version thereof could no doubt help.

PS: If you look in the postage section of your eBay link, you'll find that he doesn't post to Norway anyway. So that's the end of that!!

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

I wouldn't buy filters on ebay from any seller regardless of feedback. Stick to well known retailers for those. They're easy to fake.

Tomme: That's identical to the one I have which is so successful. I know of, but have never dealt with the company in your link. One I have dealt with a number of times is at http://www.fotosense.co.uk …ar-polarising-filter.html (external link) and yes, they will ship to Norway. As ever, shipping isn't cheap - but then you'd still have a superb polariser at a very decent price.

fotoSENSE have always, for me, been super reliable and unbelievably fast. After over 40 years as a pro. photographer, I've become very, very picky about who I deal with and I can recommend these folks personally - every order has been perfect and quicker than expected.

I have a similar ongoing problem with a protégé in the Irish Republic - it's amazing how many folks won't ship to Ireland! Goodness knows why, but there it is.

Unfortunately, even well-known retailers get caught out on occasion. For some things it's worth risking if the saving is huge but anything which directly affects optical quality is just like buying a used car with imperfect brakes. You may get lucky, or you may get very unlucky. I do know that fotoSENSE buy from the UK importer so no qualms with the recommendation.

Enjoy! Unlike a number of photo press journalists I've known down the decades, I will only ever recommend stuff I trust and use myself.
