Yeah I have a 2007 Macbook (white plastic one) and this thing runs hot as hell and the battery doesn't last more than an hour. The temperature thing has topped 180 degrees before, running at 153 right now :/

The Sigma 17-50 will never give you some nice bokeh unless you zoom all the way to 50 and shoot the closest you can.

ISO3200 f/2.8 | 1/60th | 33mm standing about 6ft from them.

I had a 2007 MacBook, too! The battery is still doing well (can't say the same about the charger, though). I gave it to my parents when I bought my MBP... I can't even imagine using LR on that thing. Then again, it is 5 years old... which is really old in "technology years".

I'm not too worried about bokeh... just lowlight performance and mainly versatility. Bokeh is what my primes are for. ;)

bokeh's got to do with focal length of the lens and the distance from the subject and the distance from the subject to the background and also if you are using ff/crop

i've gotten some decent bokeh from the 17-50 just had to be at the longer end 35-50

Just got a 60D a couple of weeks ago and now my 40D is lonely. What's worse it caught me caressing the 60 and now it won't speak to me. Anyway is there anything special to join here like knowing the password or the secrete handshake?

Tomorrow, I find out why I've been seeing 8:19 when I randomly look at clocks for an entire year. Hopefully nothing traumatic will happen, other than being a year older!

I am legitimately paranoid though. It's been bothering me for 364 days.

I'm too young to die!

I'll consider it a good year once I make it past tomorrow & Dec. 21st. Ya never know! There's going to be a lot of babies born 9 months from Dec. 20th-21st... hopefully.

I wish I could say the same for today & tomorrow!
