Is CA normal to any lens under bright condition like shooting outdoor in a mighty sunny day? My 85 f1.8 seems to have it in some shots(not all) in that given situation.

Can be corrected in LR though.

I need your thoughts while i still have time to return this lens.

The 85 1.8 is a very old lens and not quite optimized for digital cameras. Purple fringing is a little bit different than CA, BTW.

Also, the 60D has a weak infrared filter and shows these flaws more than other cameras.

If you have photoshop, you can select color range and try to desaturate the purple in selected areas.

BTW, the Sigma 85 1.4 is a good alternative.

check on some diffusers. off camera might be annoying. Let's see what others chime coz i'm not a pro for this.

I don't know if using a straight or L bracket just to keep the flash a little bit away from the body helps.

anyone pls?

i think the LR did a good job already but thanks to the additional tips in photoshop.

Hope the rumored 70D if it's true to be the top APS-C in Canon lines will do a better job.

I think this one is dreaming. 24 mp? More pixels than a 5D mk III, yet somehow better noise than the 18 MP chip? Just not sure I see that happening.

Vinz, will you be using flash on camera or off camera? I still can't decide what I want to do; on camera seems like it might be more convenient but off camera tends to be less harsh and give better results...

Bounce and a Diffuser. If you are off camera where are you going to put the flash when people are moving? They will get in between you and the camera and it will be a pain. I've never seen a wedding photag use an off flash for anything other than posed booth type shots.

Good point. I did some research and wedding photogs sometimes set up their own off camera lighting all over the venue to overpower ambient light and trigger with their camera... yeah, not happening here. lol.

What about when outside/no walls around to bounce the flash off of? How do you use the flash directly on people without shadows being too harsh, stop action, use lowest ISO possible, etc.?

P.S. I have an omni bounce for my 430EXII.

I bet $1,000 that the Canon engineers hang their heads in shame when the marketing team goes to town with the "two stop noise reduction" with each new release.:lol:

QUOTED IMAGE

Looks old-school and very film like. Just as it would look after some contrast filters and dodging in the dark room. I like it. :D
