Another test of my 28 @ 1.8

QUOTED IMAGE

i think am gonna love this lens.

Vinz, Congrats on your new toy. looks like you got yourself a good sharp copy.
Love this shot the only little nitpick I have with it is the color temperature. It needs to be warmed up. The image is quite on the bluey side. Warm it up a little and see how it looks. Other than that I think it looks great. :)

I swear this is the year of the hobo spider here in Washington. I killed 4 of them in our hallway last evening...

I can handle bears, but spiders? No WAY!

I feel the same way, I could tackle anything with 6 legs but the moment I see a hairy spider...expect me in my car running to the next state. >_<

Just gotta sell this 135L and the 85L is a reality!! >:D

lisa, you think the 85mm is the best FL even in full frame?

Well it took me a few years to figure it out myself to be honest. I loved the 85mm on the 60D so I bought the 135mm on the 5D. Then there was the oh 50mm is the best FL ever on the 5D because it's what your eye can see statement. I used the 135mm a lot because I loved the crazy DOF and sharpness it gave, and I never had a single complaint about it. I bought the 70-200 II afterwards for the versatility and slowly began using it more and more than the 135mm. I was like aww poor 135L I still love you don't worry. So I was doing the whole 50mm 1.4 (before I sold it) + 70-200 II combo. I have a 50mm MK I now by the way, and the more and more I used it; I started to hate how boring my shots were. The 50mm was convenient and light; super small and all that. I just felt like it was not a FL that I would grab for a real shoot. I think if my camera captured what I could already see as a normal focal length I deemed it boring because I felt like all my creativity is missing from my photography. That's why I'm opting towards the 85L II and I believe for me personally it will be a better walk around lens, not the 50mm. My new combo for awhile has been the 16-35 + 70-200 ...I don't like the mid-range for some reason. It's just too convenient and too easy to capture what you are already viewing in person, and to me I just lost how I feel about the shot already without trying to crop it to save my photo and my feelings about it.

So! If you managed to follow along my terrible brain thoughts, you'll see why I sell and buy like it's nothing because I've been on a search for the FL for me! 16-35 / 70-200 nailed it. Let's see if my future 85L II and 400L will be the last lenses I'll buy ...LOL

My current dream set up would be: Fisheye, 16-35, 85L, 70-200, 400 and a new CF tripod would be great. Andrew already pointed me to the new backpack the Flipside 15L and I FREAKING LOVE THE BAG!! Still to this day I don't wanna sell my 60D it's become my event work horse and my 5D as my portrait and hobby camera.

EDIT: Also, 102 users agree with me the 85L is for the 5D ..xD

i now have a 28mm and 85mm(non-L) combo for my 60D at least. Love both of them for their own purpose. They're fast and accurate. Same color rendition.

I understand what you've been through with lenses. i think it's pretty normal as you get to know your own style.

Yeah sad part is I could have saved so much $$$ if I borrowed or rented them instead of buying them to experience them myself and re-selling them to get the funds back. LOL

I probably will still get a 50mm 1.4 but only when the II version comes out. Looks very promising and along with the 35mm II, but I'm thinking about a 35mm f/2 to keep me at bay for now. I'm pretty happy with what I have but been pretty sad I haven't had time to do any photography...doing 4 other people's job at work is mondo overtime though!!

Pretty much. It's awful because at work I am required to sit at a computer for 8 hours a day... it's a wonder how I ever get anything done.
