Thanks I shot a whole load with strobes, they really show the colour of the car off and make the chrome stand out.

Efffff, if I had that kind of money!! LOL

Good news for me today, my boyfriend is chipping in $600 towards my 85L II!! I already got $300 from my S100; been a week and my 135L still hasn't sold but after that I'm jumping the gun and telling B&H to overnight that beauty to me ! I've been impatient long enough!! D:<

Cool Lisa. I think you'll be happy with the 85. Mine is non-L and it's already blowing me away. I think it's a perfect FL especially with FF.

I think it is for me, but I guess everyone will say half and half..50mm or 85mm but they are so dang close. lol

EDIT:

Should I buy this thing locally and eat taxes or buy it from B&H..

$2165 if I pick up the 85L II locally or $2000 if I buy it online. My question is I wonder how bad of a keeper rate the spot on the focus is at f/1.2 scary..decisions decisions!

Nice car and nice shots, Pauly! I especially like the first one as well. May I ask, what was your strobe setup? I've become quite obsessed with lighting lately, even though I don't have any equipment of my own to play with :(

Thanks Maria the light set up was two 300 watt strobes one with a large soft box without the diffusers fitted at the front of the car and one with a reflector camera right, oh and a speedlight behind the car to light up the trees a bit. I'll post some pics over the weekend that show the setup.

Thanks! I'd love to see pictures. I'm actually thinking my next investment should be some lighting stuff (cheap Chinese knockoff flashes and triggers + accessories) so I'm trying to learn/read everything I can until I can afford it. I think I'm gonna go for the lighting before I go for the Sigma 17-50. The Sigma 30 and on-camera Speedlite will just have to do for now.
