Sweet! I'm actually going there at 6:30 for a photo group meet up. I'll be going a bit earlier, for some mooose and maybe some goats now. You should come. It'll be the second park and ride on the left at 6:30.
Here's one from tonight.

Thanks for the invite Dr. I'm leaving town tonight though. Nice shot by the way, hope you find some goats!

I love it, I think it was worth the effort you put in. Do you have a Wacom tablet?

So I've been toying around with the refurb 35mm & it doesn't seem too sharp...........my 55-250 is way sharper =S

I'll prob be sending it back. Suppose I should go with the 28 1.8 instead...plus the focus will be quieter too LOL

/& yeah I saw that live suicide on Fox. "Whoops."

if you want mega sharpness i'd skip those all together and just buy a sigma 30 or a canon 40

unless you really need the extra stop of light

although I don't use it often - I'll chip in a good word for the 40 hotcake too. Great video walk-around, close minimum focus (and ext. tubes), compact good build, light, sharp & fast AF. For portraiture it would be better for 3/4 or full body versus head-shots due to facial feature distortion, as I'm told, just because that's the way it is with focal lengths up close 40mm or wider.

quote:
"The wider angle lens will emphasize what is closer to the camera in relation to the background. The wider angle lens will also emphasize human subjects' closest parts - often noses - noticeably larger in relation to the rest of bodies if used at a close distance. 40mm is not a good head shot portrait lens.

Step back and your subjects will be happier with their portraits. Portraits (not framed tightly) are but one of a huge range of uses for a 40mm lens. 40mm is a focal length that you could leave mounted for general purpose needs."

I can't find any reference describing how you can adjust the Sigma 30 for front/back focusing with the PC with a non MFA camera. Can anyone provide a link?

Did you post-process it this dark on purpose? For mood? The shadow shows the sun pretty high up...

Haha this was taken at midnight. No sun involved just the harvest moon.
