Nice try, but I'm actually not talking to myself... someone has been replying to me in the thread, so I am asking questions while keeping them updated.

Oh, and Andrew, I'd love to have a second body... I was out at a [manmade] lake today with my 70-200 and I was complaining about how I was missing out on certain shots because 70 is too long. The 5D Classic and shorty forty will probably be my next big purchase. Figured I'd do that for wide when I want my 70-200 on my crop. When I want the Tokina on my crop, I'll put the 70-200 on the classic; and since for portraits I like using the Tokina for certain angles, I can have the 85 on the classic and Tokina on the 60D, etc. etc. etc. The possibilities are endless! (Kinda... damn incompatible Sig 30...)

ME: i wish i didn't by the s100
should've put it towards a second body

NOT ME: why?

ME: changing lenses is a PITA

NOT ME: what is wrong with that one ?

ME: i just can't stand how slow the damn thing is lol
i'm used to dslr speed
i mean like, the last time i had a good point and shoot, relative to the year i had it, was ike 2005 maybe

NOT ME: umm how do you change lens on s100?

ME: so i haven't used a point & shoot since like... 2008?? dslrs every since then
umm... it's a PITA changing on an SLR hello
i miss some shots because i have to switch
sometimes i try to switch fast but it's too late.. & sometimes i know i'm ****ed because i'll have to switch lenses so then there's no point lol
it's just to switch between wide/standard & telephoto
obviously it'll be useful for other times too of course.. like if i'm doing a photo walk... maybe a macro & a whatever
actually then i would have 3 bodies
macro body, telephoto body, wide/standard body
it will be an orgy with all of those bodies

_______________

Anyone else have this addiction of wanting more bodies? LOL

should i add the rest of the (not) me part of that conversation LOL

dude you really need to find a girlfriend and shoot more pictures instead of playing on the internet LOL

and in all honesty i didnt read the i should have put the money to the second body portion so my replies made perfect sense in that light.

you just need to stop making excuses and shoot with what you have and stop worrying pictures arent always about what you dont have but more about learning to use what you have and running with it! if i was to not take pictures because i didnt have all i needed i would be stuck but im making that 40mm 2.8 do things i should be using something shorter like a 17-50 or 17-55 lens for but you just make do! shoot and stop complaining and finding reasons not to shoot! get it done.

I ended up buying the Canon G12 for that wide angle purpose... light-weight 'carry-on' ;) ... Inevitably I will get a back-up body though... maybe a T4i or another 60D, who knows...

Thanks - so do I, I was just having fun with the lens-flare comment - depending where you sit during the day - there is usually a rainbow in that fountain when the sun is out ;)

its always nice to catch a rainbow when you dont generally expect to see one (well i mean you do since you obviously go there often LOL but for me i wouldnt expect to see one there)

and its also nice to see people out there taking pictures and not **** about all the reasons they cant take pictures LOL

Well I'm glad you're asking about printing for n00bs, as I have a ton I need to print, and I am completely clueless about it. Even if I'm having somebody else do the printing...The lessons should still apply. I have a guy wanting his printed on a 20x30" sheet of aluminum. From my limited reading on it, I need to do some funky stuff to the picture to get it right.

Russ I'm loving the last deer shot you posted would like to see that with a vintage tone like some of your others.
Maria good to hear your pleased with your printer when you find a paper you really like its well worth getting a custom icc profile made. The difference is very subtle but it makes a huge difference especially with shadow detail.
I have a shoot this Sunday in studio with a dancer doing art nude, so I should be posting some cool stuff next week.

Haha no worries Russ I have a fair bit to post that you will like but PC gave up the ghost last week so the next few days are being spent building a new one, then the tedious task of reloading everything.
