Yo D - as not all of us are on here as often as others - maybe the 'Themes' you mentioned could be like a 48 hr thing, or at least a day overlap thing?

here's one of moi last summer taken by a friend... an excellent focus fail

I'm cool with that, I just wanted to create a way to give more ideas and reasons to get out and shoot. Kind of like a 365, but don't have to keep to.

It's the loweprow outback 200 and I love it. Has plenty of room for my camera with the 70-200 and grip on it. I also carry my 10-22 and 2X extender in one side. I carry the nifty fifty and either my 18-135 or macro on the other side and my 430 in the front pouch. When you have the camera out and the bag in front of you there's plenty of room in the bag to rest things (caps, polarizers, next lens) while shooting. I have a flipside (backpack style), but I have to keep taking it off and doesn't give you as much access as quick as this. I'm actually looking at the outback 300 because I want a larger size, but don't like the way it opens on top. The top flips up against your body and keeps falling back over the opening where as the 200 flips out and stays out of the way while pulling the camera out and changing lenses. It does however have more room for all my lenses and a rain cover bult in, so I'm going to have another look at it and see if the top will bug me that much.

What P&S do you guys shoot with when your not lugging your dslr around?

I wear my 70-300L about 95% of the time, and I hate changing lenses in the field due to dust build-up, so I want a walk-around/landscape enthusiast level P&S. Obviously I'll keep my 15-85mm & 50mm for more formal stuff.

I've been researching for months now and currently have two models narrowed down:

G12, and the Lumix FZ150. Both have a hotshoe & articulated LCD

G12 is largely considered the best of the bunch (and you can add CHDK )
has a slightly larger sensor (as does the s90/95/100) vs other P&S

but the Lumix scored a bit higher on dpreview and also shoots Raw, very good optics so its definitely a contender too. comparison below with reviews available.

I'm not looking at the G1 X, I've heard disappointing things and I want a wider angle. The G1 X & G12's successors will be very interesting given todays market offerings...

i have my S100 with me at all times. the biggest reason for me is it fits nicely into a pocket. i upgraded to the S100 after owning the S90 and being impressed with that, and so far the S100 hasn't disappointed. the 24-120 gives me a decent focal range, and image quality is amazing. it also shoots raw and you can add CHDK as well

Canon IXUS 960 IS

Well my computer (that is use for photo processing) is having internet troubles so I cant upload pics... Anyone know why I can get on google's main page, yahoo's main page, and anything on facebook, but I cant access any other website at all? If I try to come here, or any website other then those listed, I get the warning crap from the router saying there is a problem with the internet, yet when I run a diagnostic on it, everything passes. What really confuses me, is the face that facebook works perfectly fine. Same story on the laptop and on my tablet, so I know it cant be a virus on my pc. I currently have At&t as my ISP which has been the worst internet I've ever used, but it's not my bill, and I cant do anything to change it, so I just have to deal with horrible service and constant outages, but I would really like to understand what is going on here. Also, incase you are wondering how I posted this, it's all thanks to my Verizon smart phone which has far more reliable internet (and just as fast or faster even with crappy 3g signal) then At&t DSL lol.

PS, like how i made it somewhat camera related? :P

Check at your IP Provider's web page for Primary/Secondary DNS IP addresses. Sometimes they change them and it might affect you.

Yes for awhile the s95 & s100 were strong contenders with the G12 but I like the hotshoe and flippity screen of the G12/FZ150...

the distinct pocketability & quality of the little s100 is quite appealing and the s100 has the new Digic 5...
