beautiful! it pulls me in how did you manage the eerie green light in the back ground was it natural or setup that way? (i guess what im asking is did you set up the light there are is it a street lamp?) very cool photo either way sir!

It's actually a street lamb. Behind me is a lake with some grass and trees growing out of it and I was actually taking pictures of it. As I was walking I just happened to look up the hill and the tree blocked that light and a light bulb went off in my head. lol Thanks for the compliment, I do love that shot.

Last night was so weird. The fog went from so dense that visibility was zero to crystal clear in about 30 minutes. I expected it to be foggy all night and I have lots of time to set up and do shots but it became apparent pretty quickly that I was going to have to hurry to get my shots.

When I started walking towards this culvert it was actually much foggier, but by the time I got there it had cleared quite a bit.

Cant wait for your review and some samples, Alex! Really want to know if the camera outperforms in the real world compared to its poopiness on paper.

this.

I'll finally have the $$ to upgrate to FF in the next week or so, and getting some input on it's real-world performance would really make my decision easier.

I had initially decided to just pick up a (heavily discounted) used 5dii, but started thinking that I would really like a warranty. plus, I just got a regular gig that pays rather well, so I'll have a bit more to invest, and a means to justify the hefty investment. so, now it's between the 6d and 5Diii.

I'm leaning towards the 5diii, but if the 6d performs well enough where I need it to (low-light events and nightclubs) I might just get a 6D instead and put the $1k difference towards a new fast, wide prime.

if you don't need the 1/8000th sec, 6D looks promising.

and that's why i haven't fully dismissed the 6d yet. I haven't had a need for 1/8000 shutter speed thus far, but part of why I'm leaning towards the 5diii is to "future proof" myself, so to speak. I don't want to have to upgrade my camera body again for several years after this. i'll probably want to, tho :D

I've gotten a few prints done the last couple weeks. I'm really happy with them, I'm going to be doing more of the canvas photos in the next couple months.

This on is 50" wide together, I'm going to be doing a few more canvas prints in the next few months. I just split the photo in 2 in photoshop

This is a 20x30 print from Costco, I can't remember the frame size.

This one is my favorite it's above my 55" TV 58" wide 37" tall.

I really like the canvas I ordered another 36x48 for my Mom for Christmas.

Some nice before-and-after comparison photos of the abandoned Packard plant in Detroit. If you're a car nut you may need a tissue or two.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

I really like the effect the diffuser has on the skin tones. How much, if any, PP did you do? You're making me want to pick this up before Christmas time.

Those canvas prints are really nice especially the split prints. Also, the framed shot is great. Looks like a painting in the picture.
