I need that diffuser!!! I'm wondering if my bf will get it for me before Christmas so I can mess around with it during Christmas festivities. :) The Sigma 35 might be in my future but I really want the 24L II as I'm finding the pancake is pretty awesome... May have to hold out for it. Love the 24 on my 24-105.

Oh, and happy birthday Vinz!!!!

Do et do et do et do et!!! I just pulled the trigger on my Sigma 35. :D

Hey vix the Mercedes event went really well I've sold a bunch of photos from the night, had my shots accepted by two magazines, looks like I may get more event work from them next year.

I got really good exposure on the night and it's all gone a bit mental, I've had some of the models from the fashion show getting in touch they want portfolio work and today have taken a booking for a 16 year old girls party were they want a fashion mag style shoot!!

Honestly it's all or nothing lol. 2013 is going to be a mega one for me but it looks like all my money will be going on lights and studio gear so bring on a shiny new set of elinchroms ..... Lol

Two words my friend, HELLLLLLLLLLL YEAHHHHHHHH next year will be a blast for you! Keep em coming; alllll the womenss; and male strippers *cough*

Thanks.

Yah I'm missing that focal length. In the party somebody asked me what's my widest lens, i said only 40mm.

He's asking me to take good shots for his house exterior. the 17-40 fits the job. a lot of reviewers also regard that as better than the 24-105 in terms of image quality and sharpness.

Definitely get a UWA zoom at some point, I think it's almost a must have; zooms are just so convenient, you don't know how many times I've been so lazy to not have one. xD

LANDED MY FIRST MAGAZINE PHOTOS!!!! I'm so excited. Just got an advanced copy of Gasser Mag and my photos of a 32 Willys hot rod made a feature article. I know it's not like a huge big name magazine but you gotta start somewhere. :)

Pssh, and you told us you weren't take good photos! Look at you in a magazine! I haven't been featured in any! Congratulations again!

I'm actively lazy!! :D | Gear List | photovxn.com (under construction)external link

My 10 year old played at the local festival of trees with her grade school orchestra. Wish I could have gotten the teacher/conductor's butt out of the frame. :)

Crisp & sweet Kev.

This is how I'd crop it though. Keeping the balance of Christmas Red on the left and Green on the right. Just saying ;)

Thanks Rick, I wouldn't be able to make lame jokes about the teachers butt in the frame though! Much better crop though.

Is that a new label for Crown Royal? That doesn't look like any I have around the house. Maybe Canadian?

I'm sure we'll at least see the occasional bottle in the next 3 wks...

next time I'll use my 40 hotcake, had to lie on the floor a little too far away using the 85 ;)

How is the AF with the Kenko and the 70-300L?

the blue instruction sheet with it states that manual focus is best with apertures of 5.6 or smaller... so that is our beloved 70-300mm @ 300mm...

my auto-focus experience is hit and miss, miss, miss, ...
in good light its better.

It AF's Very Well up to 220mm but literally at 221mm its major focus hunting.

Bobo on the thread does not seem to have the same hunting experience using his 5DIII, and writes of a technique to help with AF...

I read many reviews on the Kenko but only a few existed regarding the 70-300L & 60D. When AF hits - mine is sharp. I can't gripe too much because I knew the odds when I pulled the trigger on it.

Well, the upcoming 5D3 firmware update will enable official focusing at f/8, so I am not shocked that he gets pretty good performance. That helps me feel ok with my decision not to get one right now and instead get a headset for my gaming hobby...

It's the 1.14L I haven't seen before. No big deal, just an observation.

Try the Black if you get a chance it's nice.

The bottle on the left in new the one on the right is a bottle from 1978
