Thanks everyone! I just ordered them. I had heard and read good things but wanted to check with those who have actual experience with them. Thanks again!

I have 8 for my flashes and will eventually get 8 more. Getting a 8-bay smart charger is also a good idea, each battery is charged independently & each with an LCD readout of its charge progress - versus - the tpyical 2 battery wall chargers that 'Stop' as soon as one of them is charged... Yes, even if the other is only partially charged

Very cool. Thanks Will!

my pleasure - when I learned from Syl Arena that the cheap 2-slot battery chargers stop charging once the first battery is charged - I soon looked for something like the link I provided. At the time of purchase - it seemed good quality for the price.

So, does the charger that came with the batteries do the same thing? I see the instructions say if you're charging 2 batteries, place them either in the right or left side, which now I can see would do what you describe. Odd. I will pick up the charger you recommend.

I also just bought Lighting for Digital Photography by Syl Arena, after I received my 430ex ii. Before last week I never heard of the guy, now i've watched his tutorials and bought one of his books, and you mention him.

sorry, not sure I quite follow...
the 8-bay charger does not come with batteries, and there is no charger included with the Eneloop 8 pk I mentioned

I had that book on my Christmas list but Santa gave me the Bird book I wanted instead.

But, since Kelbytraining.com has two Flash courses from Syl Arena, and B&H has at least two courses by him, I'll hold off on the book for now. Be sure to let us know if the book is worth it, if it provides useful info over and above what the videos provide

I'll let you know how the book is. The eneloops i ordered come with 8 AA and 4AAA plus a 4 slot charger. That was the charger I was wondering about. I'll do the google thing and see what I can find.

well one test you could do is - once the batteries are done charging in your 4-charger - put them in the 8 charger and see how long it takes them to be finished...

cheers
