I only do that for special customers. I usually include all my card numbers and one signed blank check.

It's so scary when you're buying stuff here in POTN. You're communicating back to back, minute after minute until you send a payment and then the seller stops communicating.

Just bought a 24-105 from a fellow POTN citizen. The 17- has to go.

Congrats Vinz - I've been saying it will be my next lens for a few months now... Maria will have her 85 Calibrated before I get my 24-105 ;)

awaiting my tax return so I can lower the selling price of my 15-85 IS ;)

I've looked at the 17-40 and it could end up in my bag eventually but in the mean time the 18-55IS will replace my 15-85 for wide stuff...

What do you guys use for street photography? I have the lenses in my sig and I want to add a wide zoom. However, as I already have the 18-135 I need a wide zoom that is either smaller (less distracting) and hopefully one that gets me better low light performance.

Is there a reasonably priced wide zoom (16-35, 17-40) that has a smaller profile and better low light than my 18-135?

Maybe this one?
EF 28 f/1.8 USM

Not sure what your budget is :)

Most of the other wider/faster lenses are Ls that are over $1000 and are generally larger than the 18-135, which is remarkably compact.

Have you looked at the Canon 17-55 or the Sigma and Tamron counterparts (17-50 2.8)?

Street is a typical use of your 40 hotcake because its discreet ... and sorta wide

discreet is key so folks are more relaxed.

I remember why i dont like ken rockwell that guy likes to toot his own horn ( i.e. i bought all this expensive crap in one shot and i gave this away to charity, i am not paid to have an opinion and if nikon sucks i will tell you. ect). and his reviews are almost worthless for real world application but he keeps saying that he uses this and that all the time in the field and the d800 sucks and well wow i am just really having a hard time making it through one review and its enough to make me never want to read anything of his again :) sorry just my rant for the moment.

Google Reverse Image Search:
The other day I was with a few friends and I did this on my laptop as a course of normal action and it blew them all away. They'd never realised it was possible. I was using it again just now and wondered if you guys use it and what purposes you might use it for?
For anyone that isn't aware of what I'm talking about it is this:
(1)Open a blank google IMAGE search. (i.e. using the Image search page Not the Web search)
(2) Using another Browser TAB, click on any image (say a photo posted on POTN) and DRAG across to the Google Images Search and drop it in the search bar. The results will show you as many sources of that image that it has on file AND images that might be similar ... using tones within the image.

I use it for a couple of purposes. One being authenticity queries; Larger size or better quality copies of the same image, and also for my wife's art creations with colours / shades /tones.

Anybody else have uses for this search capability?

.

I'm just about to try it but yes - to see if certain images of ours are posted anywhere they should not be aka copyright issues/theft

Addendum: well I just went to my website and dragged 3 different photos of mine to the image search and it did not find the same photos that are also on Facebook... for example
also - it seems to be looking for the same size, vs any size - can we change that?

it does not look on Facebook, and will not work on uploaded POTN photos, and it 'seems' to only look for that one size.. maybe search parameters can be changed....
