Some great fireworks here :)

Thanks for sharing Alex and Erich :)

Thanks Mirco. :) I may have to turn off the output sharpening for my Flickr photos... they look a little over-sharpened compared to viewing in LR.

so based on your guys input, I got a br sport strap, 2, 16 gig sandisk extreme sd cards, a canon lens hood, and an extra canon battery. So, all that and my 60d should all be here in like a week I am getting pretty amped. I would have liked to have goten a cpf (since most of what i will be shooting is landscapes) but a good one was out of my price range for now so it will have to wait.

if you are going to upgrade to full frame - i would wait and get the tammy 24-70 for 1200

if not stick to a tammy 17-50 - non vs if you can find one used - for portrait use the tammy is sharp as a tack but the focusing is terrible - my friend had one (for nikon) and just sold it off.

if you want a portrait lens (specially for headshots) i'd get something longer like an 85 f1.8

Well I also want a walk around lens too, I guess you can't always win. So you say the AF is terrible? What would you reccommend for walk around lens, that's fast and yet won't break the bank. And I guess I'll pair it with a Canon 85 1.8?

Side Note : I don't want to completely depend on LV. But I know the razor thin DOF will be hard to work with on fast MF only lenses. I think I might go with the Katz Eye Optics Focusing Screen. Any advantages or disadvantages? Please help. I am torn on whether I should purchase it or not. Thanks!

So after reading the things about the manual focus confirmation in this thread a few days ago I was extra picky about my manual focus last night and I was able to light up the red box with every shot. So thanks to who ever brought that up. I had no idea it existed.

super cool you got it. is manual focusing is something you choose to do or you have a manual focus only lens?

I did a shot here last year with the 60D, which was way easier with the tilting screen than with my 5D2. This little ledge is kinda scary when it is raining and the river is full.

is that a lot of dust or is it a good amount? F32. I did some dumb ways of cleaning & this is as good as I can get it. Used both ends of the lens pen + can of air with gentle air sprays.

Yes, it's the sensor. I tested the lenses & then realized the spots didn't move. I was doing tests at f22 & then I realized I could go 32 so they're darker than what I had been trying to clean off, but I'm not going any further with the wrong tools at this point LOL. Throughout my process it would get better or worse & this is the best I could get it.

But, I'm fine with it like that if that's an okay amount of dust ;)
