I posted a question about sensor cleaning just a few minutes ago on the "main" 60D site. I figure, if someone else can clean it, with the proper equipment, so can I.... but I may live to regret my over-confidence.

Nope! Google Copperhill Method and you will find all you need to know and do (or not do)

While we are talking about cleaning stuff. What do you guys use to clean your lens elements. I'm a bit afraid to say what I've been using. lol Anyway, Yesterday reached around to take the lens cap off, forgetting I had already done that and put a big ole finger print on my lens.

[QUOTE=Alex_Mk3;14675356]my copy of the 50 1.4 is sharp from 1.8 all the way up. but then again all lenses could be different. i just dont understand why people talk so much **** about it. dont get me wrong the 60mm is a great lens too but i know the 50mm blows it away when it comes to portraits, i really wish i would of kept the 60mm to shoot more legos

ill show you how sharp the 50 1.4 really is

at 1.4 (taken with my old XS)

Wow Alex I love this shot, the processing is awesome

Vinz as your going down the portraits road how about getting a 70-200 you would love that, also with portraits super sharp is not the always the most important thing.

Gear- who cares?

Still at 1.2 , they do get sharp at 1.2, if you hit it right. No lense gets more heat than this for being soft.

Alex,
Thanks for your effort and time pulling out those great 50mm shots of yours at diffrent apertures. I think i'm doing what you did. 50mm is good with extension tubes anyway.

always happy to help ;)

and warlock, i wouldnt really compare the 1.2 with the 1.4. of course it will blow it away but if you are looking for a good alternative for a lot less money you cant go wrong with the 1.4

Keyan,

My mother in law used to saw: patience is a virtue, possess it if you can. It's seldom found in woman and never in a man..... I hate waiting for stuff. I'm worse than a kid waiting for Christmas.

UPS here is a bit unpredictable. I can get packages in the morning when they are shipped one day, but they usually show up somewhere between 3 and 7:30PM...Quite a varied delivery time. Our house isn't far away from their local shipping depot so I suspect we are one of the last places they deliver each day.

I hope your 70-300L shows up soon and in perfect working order. I ordered mine right before the Memorial Day weekend and it messed things up for a few days as well.

The tracking was a bit odd, but it showed up late in the day. Also got a Hoya EVO protector filter (not looking to start that fight here), a pinch lens cap, and one of the Adorama Slinger cases for it...the case fits the lens, but not the hood, at all, kind of a bummer, although I also had this issue with my 17-55, so I took some nylon cord, tied two loops in the end, heat locked them, and then used a carabiner to make a quick release cord that I can thread the hoods through. Not perfect but it works when I want to go two lenses only and use my Cinch and no bag.

Don't get me wrong I like my 1.4, just saying that a super thin DOF can be made when you are that wide open and to keep that in mind.

Warlock,
I would like to thank you for effort too but the price of your monster 50mm is so out of range.

i would love that especially that it has a red ring.
