Crumpler Europe has a new sling type strap that attaches via the camera strap dealies and not the tripod mount. I haven't used one - was just poking around on ebay and noticed them. Crumpler's Industry Disgrace is a really comfortable strap - I wonder how these are?

It comes in 2 sizes - regular width: http://www.ebay.ca …Grips&hash=item1c275a3a7c (external link)

and a thinner one: http://www.ebay.ca …Grips&hash=item1c275a3a7c (external link)

They are called the Singapore Sling and the Singapore Slim...;)

They're not new. They won't be sold in America, either. So you'll have to order it from abroad and hope they'll ship it. I asked a Crumpler dealer when they first came out and he said he couldn't order the European exclusive products. I'm guessing it would be the same deal with Canada.

Here's a video (external link) of them.

They were new to me and I hadn't seen anything here about them, so I thought I would post it. And ebay is great way to buy stuff not available in our home country... I can have these delivered to me in Canada - thought some others in North america might be interested.

As always YMMV...

thanks for posting. Aren't they camera straps? not slings? It looks to me like they attach to both lugs. So if worn diagonally, the pad must slide to bring the camera up to your eye?
The advantage of slings is the pad stays in place.

I think they are calling them "slings" because the strap can be lengthened to to allow you to wear the camera over your shoulder with the camera down by your hip, instead of just around your neck.

Definitely not slings and not new. Been around for a long time but the Disgrace you can lengthen like that. I was doing that with mine as soon as I got it.

So then what's the difference between these and the Disgrace straps? If anything?

I was hoping this would be something cool, but that doesn't look like an alternative to the RRS at all. (I love my RRS)
