A visiting relative noticed this caterpillar munching on the remnants of a Gerber Daisy. Thought it was a dead stem of the plant.
I assume it is a geometridae caterpillar. I might be wrong. Pretty big for most of the geometridae caterpillar family, though, from what I understand: about 4" long, maybe a bit bigger.
Anyone have any suggestions as to the specific species? I'm located in Central Florida. But this critter could have been transported with the flower from the nursery.
Oh yeah, and the head is on the bottom - it is hanging by the rear feet.
