does anyone have any idea what canon would charge to replace the sensor and lcd on a 1d mark iv? I dropped it and the lcd hit on a corner of a rock! shattered the screen, oh and the sensor behind the screen too!!!

I do have CPS platinum membership and am sending it in tomorrow but I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of the cost.

wow, that's going to cost a bomb to replace the sensor, lets hope it's only the AA filter.

CY3-1614-000 CMOS SENSOR ASSY $ 1,516.22 and that doesn't include labor which will probably be about $500

i do have insurance. . . but i wasn't sure what the cost would be with the 60% off and all you get with CPS Platinum.

Such a bummer, and when i went to watch the playoffs tonight my projector died! :(

the 1D doesn't have any PCB's between the back cover & the back of the sensor (unlike xXD/XXXd series, so I can imagine that given enough imact at the right point you'd do some sort of injury to the sensor.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

It might be bad enough where you look at a new camera..... I really hope not for your sake. My 1D bodies have taken a beating, and thankfully never had anything like that happen.

Most likely you will need quite a few parts. Not only the cover and LCD, but the boards that the LCD and sensor attach to, as well as the rear exterior camera panel. I would believe that with all the parts, disassembly and reassembly and cleaning, the price tag will be pretty salty. I would expect this to be over $1K even with a platinum membership.

My bet is around $1400.

Here is a post where somebody tore down a 1D4. Perhaps just the cables or pcb connectors are damaged and the actual sensor assembly that sits behind all that isn't damaged. That will greatly reduce the cost.

No I don't. Actually Canon gave me a discount (about $300 off labor). I had insurance (extended warranty) so to me the cost was zero, but had to wait about 45 days to get refunded.
