We are going to be taking some family pictures tonight. My wife and I are pretty new at this. I want to have some ideas up my sleeve for better poses than the typical triangle: mom/dad, then son in front. Here's the setup:

We will be outdoors
Mom, thin and short
Dad, large body
Son, 11 year old, thin

Let me know if you have some good posing ideas! (picture examples would be great) I could really use the help! I'll post the pictures I take afterwards so you can see the results.

Thanks!

Maybe something like this? Kid in focus parents in background.

Will you have any access to structures, like bridges, benches, stairs?

The first family set on this page, the second, third, fifth and sixth are nice and not super triangular. I especially like the laying on the ground one.

Something like this?

Three is hard to come up with creative poses, especially with an older kid, I feel your pain. Good luck, and have fun!
