I love composite images and would like to see what you've come up with.

This thread is for the new to this who would like to learn how to create cool composite images and for the more experienced who would like to help others get great result.

No matter what your level of experience to this, I want to see what you got. From a simple background change to the over the top composites.

Lets help each other with positive critics, tricks and tutorials if you have them. I have the Show your Multiple Personality shots thread that you can get a lot of good thicks in and you can find more help for background change in the Glamour & Nude thread The ultimate studio.

Their is only one rule in here, you must have fun doing it.

So lets get this thing started with a self portrait I made the other night, witch is composed from 7 images.

Great idea for a thread. Can't wait to see what people come up with.

Edit: Oops, the post over this one with the plane was deleted. Oh well, I'll leave this post here just in case he/she comes back.

Not bad, but this is what I notice right away. The plane must of been shot on a blue sky and you added the cloudy sky to make it a more interesting shot. I can still see a blue line around the plane and at some area parts of the plane are missing.

This is what I would of done. Bring your cloud image on top of the plane image. Now you have layer 2 (cloud image) on top of the layer 1. Change the layer 2's opacity to Screen, then you'll see the plane with clouds over it. With your later 2 selected add a layer mask to it and with the paint brush tool with black, paint over the plane to reveal it. Black will hide layer 2 (the clouds) revealing whats under it (layer 1) the plane. Zoom in and with a small soft brush, paint the outlines of the plane, keeping it real tight. Once this is done, you can use a bigger brush to paint the rest of what's covering the plane. If you go too far, just switch to white and paint back in to fix it. On the layer mask, black hides, white shows.

PS; to paint straight lines, click point A with the brush, then go to point B and holding "shift" click again and you'll get a perfect line.

Dozer,
I know you have likely posted this elsewhere some time, but can you tell me what program you use to do all your photo editing?

I have Adobe CS4 Design Premium and figure I should be able to do just about anything with that program. I just haven't taken the time to learn much about using the various programs within it.

I use Photoshop CS5, but I've been doing those since Photoshop 5 (13 years ago).
So you have all the tools. ;)

Figured I should participate. I just put this one together and I think the lighting continuity could be better but selection wise I think it's ok.

"A great photographer can take great shots with an Iphone but a mediocre photographer can ruin a shot with a 1dsmkIV. My camera is like the brush I paint a house with...I'm just looking for my detail brush, and a roller, and some high gloss paint, and a sprayer, yeah a sprayer would make things easier."

Grant - I hope you don't mind a little help here. It looks like your mask is soft around the edges. Do this - take your images back into PS and stack them. Then turn the star layer to blending mode 'lighten'.

This will take any of the lighter pixels and make them visible, and any of the darker pixels not appear. Then it is just a matter of masking out the stars where the rider is. Small ones...
