Hi, right about the time I bought my T3, a co-worker bought a T3i off the home shopping network. I'm pretty sure she overpaid by a few hundro.

Now i'm starting to outgrow my T3 and I'm fairly sure she has barely touched hers since the trip to europe shoe bought it for. I am considering asking her for a trade with some cash so I can upgrade and she'll get a camera she will hardly notice the difference on.

Would this be a good trade for me? I am also considering selling whatever camera I have down the road and upgrading to a 60d when the 70d comes out. What do you experts think?

Check out this comparison (external link) to see if it's what you need. If you have the cash you might just go straight to 60D now.

If she is willing to make the trade at bargain rates go for it. But if you are going to pay market rates, then you ought to consider stepping up into the XXD line now. The user interface alone will be worth the upgrade.

Call CLP and get a price for a 60d. You may be pleasantly surprised ;) You can get a price for a T3i as well.

CLP gives you a 20% discount on a refurbished camera from Canon's direct store. I just tried to post the link but at the moment, the DSLR refurbished cameras are not available. I'm sure the site is being updated or something. Here's the general link to the Refurbished site (the link takes you to refurb lenses but at the top, you can search for refurb DSLRs when it comes back up), though you'll have to check back for the DSLRs.

I got my 60D for just under $700 including shipping and local sales tax.

I guess it could be better to just sell my T3 and pickup a busted old canon for cheap and order a 60d from clp.

Smokey,
Many people have done just that. I was able to take advantage of the 20% off refurbs a while back but with the CLP, it ends up being the same price. You just have to pick up a broken Canon on eBay or somewhere.
