Just one shot of daddy and his little girl by the beach. I can only guess what both of them are thinking at that exact moment.
I don't know why, but it made me yearn to be that little child on my own father's shoulder. <sigh>

This actually brought a tear to my eye! My father passed away when I was 9(1988) & my stepdad passed away in 2006 so Father's Day is a sad time for me.

Love the photo! Beautiful!

Beautiful picture. It makes you feel like going back to being that little kid, and riding on daddy's shoulders.

Thanks everyone.

@Crickett: So sorry to about your dad & stepdad. My own father is old and just had a stroke. What breaks my heart is he is in another country. So seeing him is difficult. This picture did remind me of the many moments I had with him as a child.

Photographer's Note: I feel this image almost has an ethereal feel to it with their hair kinda blowing slightly by the breeze... staring at the horizon... a storm front slowly forming. Yet with the two hearts flanking them on the sand.

Yes, to me the Hearts just add so much to the picture!

I was wondering if anyone noticed the hearts.

I love emotional photos like this. Father's day is a sad time for me too. Heck, for that matter, so's mother's day.

You'll have that. Not a lot we can do.

If nothing else it kind of make you realize how really short life is.

@ItzSimplymike: Yeah, the sky brought in some drama to the image.

@saea501: Glad you noticed the hearts! Family is an important component to life. So many times we take it for granted.

@kmfendley: Yes they do don't they. Thanks.
