Hey Everyone was just curious what your favorite motorsoport to shoot was and if you want to post why.

For me it is dirt track racing like world of outlaw sprint cars. I honestly think there is no better form of raw power than a 410 sprint car slinging it sideways and kicking up some mud

I wish I could pick several. I'm just getting started on my journey. I'm going to be shooting the HSR West races in Fontana, CA next weekend but I've been to plenty of other events, just not as a (sort of) professional.

Definitely rallying - the sheer guts it takes the drivers to go flat out in an unpredictable setting, plus the huge variety of cars, locations and weather makes it absolutely awesome :)

I also like rallycross (ten trucks barreling down the main straight into the first corner - totally nuts!) and motocross.

for me it's : -
Classic Racing, like Classic LeMans. Especially the early prewar racers.

Club racing - MG Car Club

BTCC - British Touring Car Championship eg http://www.facebook.com …446360.51303692909&type=1 (external link)

I'm with Tessa. Rallying.
Off Roading is a very, very, very close second.

And the worst - by a country mile.....Drifting.

Another vote for Rallying.
I have sat in a rally car (with the guy currently in 2nd place in the ARC) going pretty quickly through a test stage (well as quick as you would be comfortable doing with a couple of grands worth of camera strapped to the bonnet - we topped out at about 170kph (a little over 100mph - on ball bearing gravel) the skill taken to thread a car at those speeds through a forest is incredible, although the cars are amazing too, incredible acceleration on gravel, loads of grip, and they soak up the bumps really well too

I do like an Aussie circuit class too - the HQ Holden's
the drivers don't seem to grasp how big the cars are, and also miss the point of "no contact"
That coupled with them all running the same tyre/engine/brake/gearbox package - means they don't spread out very much over a race (a typical 10 lap race and they are spread out over 1/2-3/4 of a lap) which makes them great to watch as they bounce of each other, and try to go round the corners 3 or 4 wide.
they are the slowest thing on four wheels though

Didn't see a check box for my favorite, namely drag racing.

I'm going with "other" because I haven't been able to photograph half of those.

I'd LOVE to be able to shoot F1 though.

I've only shot drifting, but it was a blast. It's great to shoot things that are all about style first and foremost, and I'm definitely okay with any organizer that let's me get right in the middle of the track. Tried a go at dragracing but they won't let me get close enough to use a 50 the way I want. =p

I voted other, though it could fall under road racing. I like vintage racing. There is just something special about getting to shoot rare classics like a Ferrari GTO or a Shelby Cobra Daytona on a race track.

Well I want to shoot a true Rally and F1 and would wager they would be favorite. I picked Road Racing since that is what my true favorite is based on experience.
