Rick_reno ... I took this last season on the Russian River in Alaska. The river is what we call a 'meat river' where we score our salmon for the winter. The bears here are habitual to humans unless a 'ahole' decides to be a 'wanna be' (Anchorage) 'mountain man' a blasts one with a .44 magnum. Got a bunch of photos but most have a large file to upload. Bummer.

Note the massive scar on the mothers shoulder. Must have been a swipe form a bear.
