What is it for?
Everywhere in the manual shows it always set to the unlock position.
Ok one could guess it so you don't accidentally move the Control Dial, but mine seens a really positive action [Unlikely to accidentially move it]
Q is there another reason for it?

In the "Lock" position the wheel will move but it will have no effect on the settings.

If you've ever missed a shot because you accidentally changed the aperture in M or the EC in one of the other modes then you know exactly what that lock switch is for.
