I am experimenting with mounting my flash directly on the mp-e. This is the result from last night. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!

That seems to work really well.

Lovely capture.

With wide heavy duty velcro straps (not the sticky kind). The flash however I think will end up getting the sticky kind. I had it so the last strap would wrap around the flash and stick to the velcro straps on the mp-e. This made for a nice secure combination however reducing or increasing the magnification was a nightmare. I think if i use the really heavy wide velcro, sticky kind, on the flash I might be able to get away with not wrapping it and still have it secure and easier to reposition. Of course I will try theory out on my cheaper flash units first lol.

I have a bunch of other ideas in my head. I will post my finished design and pictures ;0)

Thank you, he was my first jumper of the year. Macro season has been really bad since the bad freeze we had two winters ago. I still have not seen a single orb weaver since then, very sad, I loved those spiders.
