speedlite gator grip

is there some sort of gator grip type thing that i can attach a speedlite to a light stand pole with.
not an adapter for the pole tip, but for the pole itself.

I'm not sure what a "gator grip" is besides that socket attachment that they used to sell on infomercials. Is it some kind of a strap wrench?

It sounds like a Super Clamp would work for you. You could clamp it anywhere along the light stand. Then you could mount a Speedlite to that or even add an umbrella adapter for a bit more flexibility.

Those are just modified spring clamps. McNally called them "Justin Clamps" and the name stuck. You can get one here (external link). You could also frankenstein your own if you want to save money.
