Most likely the lower priced one is the earlier "non DG" version.
The only difference here is the "DG" claims to have new coatings on the glass,. which are "optimized for digital" and superior than the older coatings.
Sigma is systematically upgrading most, if not all of there lenses to this new "DG" coating standard.
Also,. on B&H you have the choice of getting it with the 4 year U.S. warranty,. or the "international" grey market item,. same exact lens,. just with a one year warranty.
