I'm curious to how capable this body is for landscape shots. I'm having a tough time deciding on getting the 5dmkii or 7d.

If you shoot primarily landscapes or other stationary targets....get the 5DII. Having had both, this is not a toss up.

Jun 17, 2012 13:05 | #4 I mainly shoot sports and wildlife with my 30d and I'm ready to upgrade bodies and plan on doing a lot of landscape this summer and willing to give up speed and reach if the 5dmkii is that much better for landscape. So I was hoping people post landscape shots with the 7d to see if I could live with the results Canon 7Dmkii, 6D

I accept that the 5D2 is probably (I've never used one) better for landscapes but that doesn't mean the 7D can't do them! https://www.flickr.com/photos/jackhenriques/

I accept that the 5D2 is probably (I've never used one) better for landscapes but that doesn't mean the 7D can't do them! Agreed. I have a 7D and a 5D3. The 7D is a fantastic body and suited to a wide range of subjects, landscapes included. For all practical purposes (this does not include pixel peeping, camera bashing for the fun of it or repeating what you may have read on the net without having any real experience of your own) they can be used interchangeably. Try it. You'll like it. Sometimes not taking a photograph can be as problematic as taking one. - Alex Webb
