Having shot a 7D for 3 years and a 5d2 for a while now, at base ISO with equivalent lenses there really isnt much in it.

I think the 5d2 has slightly better colours/accuracy/range and a little more dynamic range but I dont think I can push the files as hard from the shadows.

I do think the 5d2 is better but I doubt anyone could look at a shot and pick which body it was shot with.

Interesting to know... makes me feel better about choosing the 7D over the 5D mk2 for it's versatility!

I am thinking of letting go my 4 months old pre-owned 5D2. Patience as I can deliver, the 5D2 focus hunt at not even low light situations and it's IQ on the light metering, I really finds it retarding.

Perhaps I was spoiled by the 7D

Another couple of 7D landscapes. I've just realised the pier shot last page was actually taken with my 50D!

I am primary a landscape photographer but I would normally not consider my 7D as my first choice for landscape shots. Having said that on a recent trip to the Damaraland region in Namibia I was shooting landscapes with 2 x 5D3's (I never change lenses in such extremely dusty conditions). I also had my 7D along with the 100-400L IS mounted for the odd wildlife shot.

On a few occasions I wanted to take more "intimate" landscape shots within the wide open landscapes, here the 7D with the 100-400 proved to be just the solution! So yes, the 7D CAN do landscapes :D

Well I have adjusted it, :o I'm not 100% sure it's correct even now though. Theres land the other side of the water, and it's muddying the waters so to speak of where the true horizon is.......... I'm on a laptop, I don't know if those of you with a bigger monitor can see a greater difference than I can ??

I'm not sure what I did to make it look like there is texture in the foreground. But overall I was pretty pleased with how this turned out as I just set it up real quick when I was walking back to the car.

@ John - lovely colour on the horizon . Are those car headlights on the right hand side ??

@ Ken - great clarity and reflections in the water. Processed to perfection, with the colours spot on and not over saturated.

Here's a b/w from the coast taken a few weeks back

I'm blown away by these pictures! I recently got a 7D and even more recently got a Canon 10 - 22mm lens. I see a bunch of these pictures taken with this combination and also with the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Zoom Lens. My next lens purchase is going to be the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 lens.
