Lets get back to page one. A 5 o clock alarm Saturday morning to get to the Forest Of Dean by sunrise. Once the morning mist cleared the suns rays lit up the foliage across the waters. It's not quite the autumn colours I wanted yet, so a few more early Saturdays will be required..........

These look amazing.
Did you use any ND filters for these? If so which ones?

Thanks! I was really pleased with how they turned out.

Actually I didn't use an ND for these two; the range of light level was really extreme, expecially for the first one, so the lighter shot out of each bracket of three got a somewhat long exposure without any extra effort from me. I did have the Hoya "HD" polarizer on but that's not supposed to cut the light as much as a regular polarizer.

I do however have a Hoya NDX 400 (~ 9 stops) which I just love. My copy has hardly any effect on color (cools shots down a tiny bit, but that's all) and best of all, unless it's really dark I can tweak composition, meter and even focus in liveview with it on my 17-55. The Hitech 10-stop I had before that was abysmal - it had a huge color cast and light leak problems.

Beautiful photo. Reminds me of Monet's "Impression: Sunrise", which gave it's name to the Impressionist movement and subsequent genre of paintings.
