Hey guys,

I filmed a dance recital this weekend with a T3i, VX2100, and a H4n. Last year I synched everything manually in FCE but this year I am hoping to use multicam editting to save me a lot of time in FCP X. However, I am having issues.

Footage from my VX2100 is in a few big chunks in the event browser, footage from the T3i ends at the end of every number, and the H4n was going constantly. So FCP isn't able to synch everything up because the VX2100 was shut off between numbers but the H4n was not. If I could just make cuts on the VX2100 clips in the event browser I would be fine (do each number on its own), but I can't.

Is there a way around this? Am I going to have to reimport the VX2100 footage and stop the import between each number (which would take forever)?

Thank you!

Also, everytime I try to do multicam/synchronize it takes forever. I was going to try using proxy, but FCPX won't let me convert the DV footage from the VX2100 to proxy. I know the DV footage is "native" or whatever, but in the preferences if I hit use proxy media (to use the DSLR proxy), the DV footage is no longer functional. Any tips?

I'm becoming very frustrated :(

plural eyes. download the demo. That's all you should need as long as your vid cams were also recording audio

I ended up reimporting the VX2100 video in chunks which makes synchronizing the two video clips easy but maybe I'll try plural eyes before I cut up the audio track as well.

Thanks for the suggesiton!

yes, the free trial is a full version so... it's an excellent piece of software. Give it a shot. You'll never do it by hand again
