So i got my 600D 2 month ago and ever since i'm playing around with it trying to take a nice looking HDR. I'd love to hear what you think about it.
Any pointers are welcome.

this is actually pretty good scene to demonstrate HDR!
theres some highlights and theres some shadows.

with a single shot, usually the highlights will be blown or the shadows will be black. with HDR you can bring back the details in the highlights and shadows. hence increasing the overall dynamic range of the photo.

question: was this one image? im asking because the highlights are blown and the shadows lack detail. if it is one shot, use AEB to take 3 shots at 2ev apart. you will get 3 images: -2ev, 0ev, +2ev. Then run your tonemapping. The three images should allow you to bring back more details in the blown out areas and shadows.

have fun!

I like this. Looks like it has a foggy/misty look to it. I can just imagine a mob of 18th century townspeople searching and chasing down the creature through the English countryside as it tries to elude them.

It's a fabulous image (especially so for a beginner) to look at but if you are after critique, I agree with Jason. The fog highligts are blown and adds distraction to the image.

1) it's great that you didn't crank the HDR slider to 100% like too many people do when they start doing HDR.

2) Agree with Imjason on the background. Ideally you should have had about even exposure across the foreground and background if you do it right. The background is too bright here and the foreground has some dark shadows.
