Btw imho, I would think a brighter background can bring out the subject even more. Nevertheless still a great shot.

I'll try that idea, thanks, this shot appeals to me as well, I think its because this is the angle a bug would be at, watching that spider walk right up.:D

not sure what a happy spider looks like, not sure i'd want to meet one either. Interesting angle and a colorful subject.
