Hummmmmmm.....judging by the antenna, I think it might be an immature moth. Great capture!
Thanks Leo, The antenna do stand out, very strange behavior though.

Orgyia leucostigma subspecies leucostigma, the Whitemarked Tussock Moth http://eny3541.ifas.ufl.edu/Tussock/Orgyia.htm Brian, You are my Hero, you have nailed it on the head, so to speak. It is a Female Whitemarked Tussock Moth. "Orgyia leucostigma" Thanks again, I had no idea that they looked like this. I have photographed the Tussock Moth Caterpillars, but in my wildest dreams did not think that the female would look like this. Thanks again for the help on this one. Canon 5D

You obviously found it spraying it's eggs over the old coccoon- quite a find!!!! Brian V. Wing less moths, who would have thought of that? I was quite amazed at finding this one. To me it may not be the best pic I've taken, but it is definitely the most unique I've found to date. Thanks again for the great help on this one. Canon 5D

It's weird but think you actually have trouble appreciating a shot like this, as the bug is so odd/wrong that your brain sort of refuses to look at it properly. Brian V. Thanks Brian, and I agree, this is a very different kind of bug, can make it hard to appreciate. Canon 5D
