Went out to the Rhode Island Airshow in Quonset Point yesterday, and borrowed a friend's 100-400L for the occasion. Here's the non-Thunderbirds shots I got. The Tbirds will be in another post.

Jun 19, 2012 15:57 | #9 Thanks guys. I was pretty rusty in the morning since I hadn't done any airshows since March of last year. Didn't get too many keepers from the morning performers. FlyingPhotog wrote in post #14598326 Excellent work Jeff... You even managed to get a little wing blur on Mike Goulian! He kept moving too fast for me to get many decent shots. I was happy to get a couple that were actually somewhat sharp. PhotosGuy wrote in post #14598432 This is a very nice set! Great prop disc in #2! Thanks. I was trying to get full discs on everything, but most of the results weren't pretty. I'd keep it a little faster early on in their routines to make sure I got some shots, and then slow it down as they progress.

Yeah, trying to get full disc blur can be a nightmare and, worse, can lead to the loss of many shots that otherwise would have worked with less blur. These days I try to push it but have learned not to push it so far that I end up with a poor keeper rate just because I was pursuing full disc blur. MY WEBSITE: Andrew Tingle Photography
