Picked this lens up last week and really like it....a lot. The close focusing ability is sweet. This will be my main walkabout lens for the forseeable future. It'll also get a lot of use shooting wedding, particularly for detail shots.

I've been saving up for a fast or semi-fast prime for my 60D and thought I was going to get a 28mm f/1.8 but a few things have made me reconsider. First, I read that lens has a more than normal tendency to flare. Secondly, this lens was released.

I'd appreciate input on a 40mm on a crop camera. I know Will is having great results based on the photos he posts. I guess I'm trying to duplicate the view I used to get with a 50mm on my former SLR. However, I realize this is sort of a silly goal, when you think about it.

Anyway, any comments, suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

This is a fun thread. I like the variety of shots and the general enthusiasm. I think I'm going to give up on M4/3 and get one of these for the 5D...

Processed versions also present in same set. I know this isn't the C&C thread, but any thoughts are welcomed as I have a TON to learn.

I tried one of these out and it was wonderful! Definitely looks a bit strange on the older Rebels.

Yes it misses focus sometimes, but I don't think its because its "slow" and the bokeh is not pretty if you have a lot of contrast, but srsly for the price its a gem of a little lens. Sharp sharp sharp. Really fun for family candids and less "important" stuff, and more importantly so I enjoy shooting when I want too.

Minimal processing done to them. Desat on 05, and just levels on the others. No sharpening unless LR4 does it automatically in export resize (sharpen is turned off on the export screen)

Somebody needs to photograph the lens atop a bunny's head to complete the meme.
